Duminda Silva Pleaded not Guilty to Corruption Charges

The Bribery Commission filed three cases against Former UPFA MP Duminda Silva for not declaring assets and liabilities for 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Duminda Silva,  pleading  not guilty to  the charges in three corruption cases.
Silva’s lawyers today said that he was willing to plead guilty if the court would impose only a fine. According to the legal provisions, the court can impose a fine of Rs 1000 and a prison term of one year for each case against him.
Since the court did not respond to the request, Silva’s lawyers asked the cases to be proceeded.
The next inquiry was fixed for July 26.
