Disappointed Politico from Wayamba?

 

A politico from Wayamba in charge of sports left the country last Friday on a official visit to China, after obtaining necessary approval from the higher authorities concerned. He arrived in China on Saturday afternoon checked into a hotel and relaxing after a sumptuous meal. An urgent call from a key office in Colombo disturbed him. The message is that he should call off his visit and return home immediately. Discreet inquires made by him revealed it was in connection with the reshuffle. With a growing fear that he would lose the sports job, he packed his bag and baggage and took the Colombo bound flight. On return he attended the reshuffle ceremony dressed up in his Sunday best. But to his surprise there was no change of portfolio for him. He had to regret about his cancelled China trip for nothing.
