Maldives Parliament Cordoned Off by Military…

On order said to be given by the President, Maldives Parliament was cordoned off by the country’s Army. This step reported to have been taken to prevent members of parliament voting on no confidence motion moved in the house against the Speaker Abdulla Mazeek.

The opposition accused the President for this unlawful and undemocratic act. In Madives Presidential form of government is in operation.
