Joint opposition & JVP Abstained From Felicitating Prime Minister in Parliament.

In a special sitting of parliament on Friday (4) a proposal to felicitate Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe for he being continued to be elected to parliament for the last 40 years was presented in parliament.

The SLFP Ministers, MPs, UNP Ministers, MPs, Opposition Leader R.Sambandan, TNA members of parliament, Ceylon Workers Congress, EPDP Douglas participated and spoke well of prime Minister and praised
him.
However, the significant absentees are JVP members of parliament and Joint Opposition members of parliament. By being not present in parliament , they avoided speaking on prime minister. It is relevant to mention the fact, that they expressed their doubt on Ranil’s involvement in connection with the Central Bank bond scam in the past.
