Party Leaders Didn’t  Take No Confidence Motion For Discussion Today

When Parliament met today JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake asked  the current status of the no-confidence motion against Minister of Foreign Affairs Ravi Karunanayake submitted  by the Joint Opposition.
In response the Speaker said, that there is a legal problem  to be resolved before arriving at a decision. Thereafter, Anura Kumara Dissanayake insisted  that even if there is a legal problem it should be included in the order paper.
On the other hand, when the party leaders met  today, the question regarding  no confidence motion was not taken up,  Deputy   Speaker Thilanka Sumathipala announced to the media. He further said, to take up this matter in the party leaders meeting, it should first be approved by the  Speaker and then included in the order paper. To all these process it takes a few days. Hence, no question of taking up this matter in the party leaders meeting.
