Mahinda Faction Throws the Net to Catch Wijeyadasa to Their Side?

Joint Opposition belongs to Mahinda’s faction are adopting various tactics to attract Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe towards them. There were wide spread protest against Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe for expressing different views on Hambantota port lease. Some Ministers and back benchers of the UNP are bent on bringing a no confidence motion against Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

Making use of the opportunity Joint Opposition MP Bandula Gunawardena said, that Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe expressed his views boldly against the views expressed by the visiting UN Rapporteur in Srilanka. Hence, he looked at the attempt to remove Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe from the Cabinet is an International conspiracy.  Therefore, he personally supports and standby Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.  Further, he intends to seek the support of his leadership to Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Dilan Perera said, that the Joint Opposition was involved in slinging mud against Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe in the past and now shed crocodile tears. Therefore, he should not join them. Instead, he can come back and join the SLFP.
