Trouble in Kataragama Murugan Temple

For years early morning Pooja at this Lords Skanda’s temple carried out uninterruptedly.

But today, when the Chief Priest went to the Devalaya to open the Devalaya gate to perform early morning pooja, Bassnayake Nilame came and by force took away the key from  the Chief Priest. Up to now the Kataragama Devalaya remains closed without regular poojas.

Police have been called to control the situation.
