Strike Against New Inland Revenue Draft Bill Suspended

Earlier the Inland Revenue staff planned to stage a strike today (24)  against the  new Inland Revenue Draft Bill to be presented in Parliament  tomorrow .However, following a discussions they had with Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera and State Minister Eran Wickramaratne, scheduled strike has been suspended temporarily.

This  decision was taken Ministers have promised the trade union representatives that the Inland Revenue Draft Bill will not be tabled in parliament on Friday, Trade Union Joint Committee Co-Secretary H.A.L. Udayasiri confirmed it .
