UNP MPs Insists Speedy Legal Action Against Offenders

United National Party backbench MPs  numbering 52 met the  President at the Presidential secretariat last night (23)and spoken at length regarding the delay caused  in taking legal action against those involved in frauds and corruptions. They demanded investigation in this connection should be accelerated and Court action expedited.

President has agreed with them and assured to expedite investigations and Court cases.

Towards the end, the  UNP backbenchers have requested that they be given an opportunity to meet the President on a monthly basis to discuss government’s actions.
