Mevan Silva Appointed as  the New CID Director

As the former director of the CID Senior Superintendent of police B.R.S.R .Nagahamulla was promoted as the DIG, CID director post became vacant.

The IGP   was requested to consider CID Head of Special Operation Deputy Director Shani Abesekara for the post of Director CID. . In the past Shani Abesekara group  under took several CID investigations including the Murder of Wasim Thajudeen . Hence, death threats were made to him.

 Despite these facts, the IGP has decided to appoint Special Investigation Unit (SIU ) Senior Superintendent of Police Mevan Silva as the Director CID .
