Weather Forecast For 28th August 2017

A slight enhancement of showery condition over the South-western part of the country can be expected during today and tomorrow. Cloudy skies can be expected over most part of the country.
Fairly strong winds about 40-50kmh can be expected over the country (particularly in Northern, North-central, North-western, Eastern and Central provinces and in the Matara and Hambanthota districts).
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy falls (about 50 mm) can be expected at some places(Particularly in Rathnapura, Kegalle, Kaluthara and Gampahadistricts).
Light showers will occur in the Jaffna,AnuradhapuraandHambantota districts.
On the apparent southward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 27th of August and 06th of September in this year. The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (28th) are Nawaladi, Chalai and Periyaparanthan about 12.12 noon.
