SLFP Stand on New  Inland Revenue Draft Bill Soon

While addressing  an event in Kandy, Minister SB Dissanayake said, that  the current tax system has an indirect tax rate of 80 percent while the direct tax rate is 20 percent. Low-income earners are currently being taxed far more than high-income earners, adding that change is clearly needed in the Inland Revenue Act.

E further said, that the SLFP will discuss the issues it has with the bill and announce its stance before the 6th of September, on which date it was presented in the Parliament.
