NWSDB Employees Disconnected Water supply to Kabir Hashim Resident

There was Rs.3500 arrears payment for water supply made to a private house of Minister Kabir Hashim. While the minster was engaged in a discussion at his house, officials from the water drainage board came to disconnect water supply. One of the assistance of the minster on duty has conveyed this to the minister. Minster in turn has given Rs.3500 to his assistant to pay and obtain the bill within 30 minutes. Officers who called over there said, that they cannot accept the payment and issue receipt within 30 minutes. Thereafter they disconnected the water supply and went off.

On learning what happened, the minister said, all these things happen only under the Good Governance government. During the previous regime no officer dared to take similar action, as what they did to me. Only regret is that they have ignored my position as minister cum General Secretary of the UNP, one of the main political parties.
