50 Tube Wells For Drought  Affected Puttalam People

 More than 300,000 people in Puttalam have been badly affected by drought and find it difficult to fetch drinking water for their survival. State Minister Palitha Range Bandara said, that having considered their plight  and taken  steps on an accelerated basis  to construct  50 tube wells in Puttalam.  People in Aanamaduwa had been badly hit by this drought and 10,000 families  are being given dry rations .

Even wild animals  have been affected by this drought . Hence,  steps have been taken to construct artificial wells and water holes  to benefit wild animals.

 The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources Management has taken steps to construct 50 tube wells  in selected areas of Puttalam district.
