Northern Provincial Council Postpones Debate on  20th Amendment to the Constitution.

The Northern Provincial Council today (07) decided to postpone the debate on the 20^th Amendment to the constitution.

The resolution on the draft Bill was to be debated at the council session, but the councilors had unanimously decided to debate the Bill after studying the amendments proposed by the government to it.

The 20^th Amendment to the constitution was defeated in the Southern and Uva Provincial Councils and the North Western Provincial Council decided to refer it to the Legal Committee.
