Letter of Demand  Sent to Keerthi Tennakoon Claiming Rs.500 M Damages By Deposed Wijeyadasa

Centre for Human Rights (CHR) Executive Director Keerthi Tennakoon has made a public statement in a press briefing on  5th August   alleging that MP Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa had obstructed the law being enforced by withholding the committee report on the Welikada riots for more than two years.
MP Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has demanded Rs.500 million as compensation from Keerthi Tennakoon for defaming him.
In the letter of demand it was stated that the false allegation made by Keerthi Tennakoon had been given wide publicity tarnishing  his image,  which he had earned as a professional and a politician for several years.
The MP said legal action would be taken if Mr. Tennakoon failed to pay the money demanded within two weeks.
