PTL Arjun Aloysius to Maintain Muteness When Questioned to Disclose Source of Sensitive Internal Information

Those who closely follow and monitor the Central Bank bond commission proceedings will agree, that it has already been established beyond doubt that PTL has received sensitive internal information from CB officials in connection with the bond auction.
Under these circumstances PTL owner Arjun Aloysius was summoned to appear before the bond commission today (13) to give his evidence. Unconfirmed news reaching us states that Arjun Aloysius lawyers said to have informed the commission about his inability to attend the commission today.
Further, PTL lawyers reported to have advised Arjun Aloysius and Former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran to maintain muteness when they are questioned to disclose the source of sensitive internal information given to them from the Central Bank, while giving evidence before the commission.
There is no provision in Srilankan Law to force or compel a witness to speak. Hence, as advised by PTL lawyers they have decided to maintain muteness when questions are asked on sensitive matters.
