They were taken to prison hospital prior to direction given by the Prison Reforms Minister D.M. On a directive given by D.M. Swaminathan, prison authorities raided the prison hospital and did a thorough search. Two mobile phones and several sim cards have been recovered from the ward of the Prison Hospital. It is relevant to mention the fact that Lalith Weeratunga , Anusha Palpita and former Parliamentarian Duminda Silva are treated. However, it has not been established as to whether mobile phones and the sim cards had been used by the two ‘VIP prisoners’.
