Southern Province Sports Minister Removed

Mr. Weerasumana Weerasinghe was appointed as Minister of Sports by former President Mahinda Rajapaka in April 2014.

 Although the President and the Government changed, he continued to hold the portfolio assigned to him.

The Chief Minister of the Southern Province Shan Wijayalal de Silva has removed Weerasumana Weerasinghe from the post of Sports Minister and retain the ministerial portfolio held by Weerasinghe with himself.
