LG Elections in January too Doubtful? -JVP

While speaking in Parliament yesterday, JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said, that the government was planning to introduce several amendment bills in respect of local government and Provincial Councils. The government has not announced at least the dates on which these amendments could be placed before the Parliament.

Without placing these amendment bills local government and Provincial Council elections cannot be conducted.

Hence, he raised the doubt whether elections could be conducted even in January 2018.
