 World Bank Representative Met FM Srilanka Yesterday

Executive Director of the World Bank S. Aparna along with the World Bank’s Country Director for the Srilanka and the Maldives called on the Minister of Finance and Media Mangala Samaraweera yesterday (21) at the Ministry of Finance.
Discussion centred on how the government could leverage resources to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encouraged the government to integrate more with other nations in South Asia.
At this discussion Aparna conveyed the World Bank’s eagerness to engage more with Srilankan government to mitigate climate related disasters.
Further, Executive Director S. Aparna commended the government on the positive social instigators displayed in fields of health, education, literacy rate and life expectancy.
