Guinness World Record Wedding Ended in Trouble  

In Kandy, Gannaruwa area a wedding took place. Couple concerned wanted to establish Guinness World record in their wedding.  For this purpose they selected a 3,200 meter “Osari” saree and worn by the bride.

The Chief Minister of Central Province Sarath Ekanayake graced this occasion. Hence, school children numbering 250 were invited to hold the Osari along street between Kandy Getambe junction to Eriyagama junction.

As the photograph of school children holding the osari went viral in social media, it ran into strong protest by viewers of the public.

It is relevant to mention that Guinness world record has been established by an Indian women wearing a wedding saree, length of which was 2,800 meter. But intended Guinness record has not yet been granted for this achievement in Srilanka.
