Prices of Rice Reduced

In a press conference called at the Sathosa head quarters today (19), its’ Chairman D.M.K.P.Tennakone said, that in order to arrest the increasing prices of rice in the market, CWE has taken steps to provide rice to the public at reasonable prices. Hence, prices of rice are being reduced from midnight today.
As per guidance given by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Badiutheen to sell essential goods at low prices, prices of 500 goods were reduced last week. Followed by this, unprecedented number of people visited the Sathosa resulting in increase in turn over.
Prices of rice increase in the market were due to drought. Approval from the Cost of Living Committee was obtained to import 50 metric ton of rice. In the first phase 1 lakh kilogram of rice was imported.
Hence, Sathosa  will be able to sell rice at reasonable price in future, said Sathosa Chairman. Hence prices of rice are being reduced from midnight today.
New prices are:
White rice -Rs 65 per Kilo
Nadu – Rs 73 per Kilo
Broken Rice -Rs 60 per Kilo
Samba -Rs 80 per Kilo
