2.0 New Poster: Rajinikanth Aka Chitti Is In Love With Amy Jackson? See Photo

Ahead of 2.0 audio lunch, director Shankar on Wednesday shared a brand new poster of his upcoming magnum opus, featuring superstar Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson. The poster is similar to the first look that was released last year, which showed the hostility between the characters of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar written all over it. The latest poster, however, is a mushy one.
It suggests a romance between Chitti (Rajinikanth) and the character played by Amy Jackson. While we don’t have more details regarding Amy’s part, the recently released character poster suggests that she may be portraying a woman robot in the mega-budget sci-fi film.
As we expect some out-of-this-world face-off between Chitti and Dr Richard (Akshay Kumar), it seems like romance will also play an important role in dictating the actions of the lead characters in 2.0.
The first film in the franchise, Enthiran, showed scientist Dr Vaseegaran’s (Rajinikanth) efforts to give Chitti, the robot, the ability to think and feel like human being and how it backfires, when his creation falls in love with his beautiful girlfriend Sana, played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
2.0 is being made three times the budget of Enthiran. Shankar has promised to deliver a one-of-its-kind cinematic experience on the Indian celluloid with this film. Usually, the films are shot with 2D cameras and later get converted into the 3D format. But the filmmakers of 2.0 have directly shot using high-tech 3D cameras to create more depth on the big screen.
A behind-the-scenes video that was released recently gives the glimpse of the technology behind India’s most expensive film ever.
The makers will also intensify the promotions in the coming days as they prepare to release the film in January next year. A grand audio release will be held in Dubai this Friday, and the teaser and theatrical trailer will also be unveiled at grand functions in Hyderabad and Chennai, respectively.
