Rs 5, 000 Monthly Remuneration to Citizens Over the Age of 100 Years.

The Cabinet has approved the proposal made by the Minister of Social Empowerment, Welfare and Kandy Heritage, S.B.Dissanayke   to make a monthly remuneration of Rs 5,000 to senior citizens, who have exceeded the age of 100 years and under poverty line.

Already 350 citizens, who have exceeded 100 years of age, had been identified in the country. Life span of a citizen exceeding 100 years is a reflection of improved health services in the country.
