Landslide Warning in Two Districts

Over 100 millilitre rain fall has been recorded during the past 24 hours in two districts. If the rain continues, risk of landslide, rock felling and other problems connected with the land exists. Hence, National Building Research organization has issued landslide warning in respect of Ratnapura and Kegalle Districts. NBRO has advised people in those areas to be ready to move to safety places.

This warning was issued by the NBRO for 24 hour period, starting at 6pm on 8 th and ending at 6pm on 9 th . Abeyagama Pradeha Secretariat and suburbs, Ayagama, Madapathara, Kalandura, Pityytakanda, Kavichikanda.Davaragiriya Grama Sevaka divisions and its’ surroundings, Ehliyagoda Pradeha Secretariat and its suburbs are included in Ratnapura District landslide warning. Likewise landslide warning in Kegalle Districts includes, Dehiovita Pradesha Secretariat and its’ suburbs.
