Followed by Sword Cutting Aava Group Now Thaara Group in the North

So called Aava group terrorized the Jaffna peace loving citizens. This group said to have been formed in Valikamam in Tellipalai and striking on an off with swinging swords in their hands. They appear in group on motor cycles carry out attacks and disappear in no time. Police could not mange to contain the violence of this group completely.

In the recent past many robberies and attacks were made in the Vadamaradchi district. Police appointed a 3 member team to trace the origin of it and eradicate it. Police was able to arrest one of the members of this group. On interrogation, it was revealed that a group called “Thaara” was formed in Vadamaradchi to carry out attacks and terrorize the people. Police have identified some of the members of this group and trying to arrest them soon.

Although police has done several investigations in the past, reasons for operating such groups and who is behind these groups have not been established so far . Jaffna people are confused.
