GMOA Contemplating Legal Action Against SL

GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge while addressing a press conference held at the GMOA Head Quarters in Colombo, yesterday said, if the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) holds its election against the relevant rules and regulations without gazetting, the GMOA will take legal action.

He further said that strangely, the Health minister’s public relations officer has also handed over his nominations for the election, while his term as a SLMC member ends today. The nominations close on 23rd. GMOA’s objection letter has been sent to all relevant authorities in the SLMC.

If they ignore objection of the GMOA, the representatives of the GMOA will give nominations and the Central Committee will work to ensure their victory, he concluded.
