Elephant Held Case Against Dammaloka Thera Fixed for Inquiry

Uduwe Dammaloka Thera was charged with the possession of an elephant calf without a permit. When the case was taken up today in the Colombo High Court, the Attorneys representing the State Minister cum 1 st witness informed the Court, that their client was absent as he is on an overseas diplomatic engagement.

Colombo High Court Judge Sampath Wijeratne has issued an order stating that the case will be heard on the 30th of November. Accordingly, the Colombo High Court ordered State Minister Wasantha Senanayake to be present in court for the next hearing.
