Betel & Hand Symbol Contestants Called For a Meeting Today

All UPFA and SLFP contestants contesting local government council election have been invited for a meeting at Sugathadasa Stadium  in Colombo today (29). The meeting is scheduled to be held at 2 pm under the chairmanship of Party Leader President Maithreepala Sirisena.

Purpose said to be to brief them the methodology and the guidelines they have to follow during election. Further they are expected to make to make a pledge not to resort to any kind of corruption, violence or misrule as a candidate after the poll.  SLFP sources revealed. It is relevant to mention that nearly 9,000 UPFA and SLFP candidates  jointly contest for 341 councils in the forthcoming election.
