Yesterday’s Parliamentary Incident to be investigated.

Parliament looked like a battle ground yesterday when members of parliament exchanged verbal words  over bond  report related issues and MP  Kavinda Jeyawardena fainted and admitted to hospital. The speaker was forced to adjourn the parliament for a short while to defuse the tension.

The Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala said, as certain MPs were injured during the commotion, that an investigation into yesterday’s incidents will be done with the help of video recordings. Although no one has complained about yesterday’s incident, Party leaders wanted it to be probed. Hence, an investigation was ordered, the Deputy Speaker said.
