Indictment Against Wimal Weerawansa
The case against MP Wimal Weerawansa was filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
The charges involved the possession of assets worth Rs.75 million which could not have been earned through his salaries and other incomes during his tenure as a Minister.
When the case was taken up for inquiry today ,Wimal Weerawansa rejected the charges levelled against him. Indictments were handed over to MP Wimal Weerawansa today before Colombo High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi.
Hence, the case has been postponed till 19th February 2018.
