Harin Fernando’s Comments Attracts More Comments From Politicians

Minister Harin Fernando while addressing a meeting on Thursday (11) said, that Ministers NimalSiripali de Silva and Susil Premjeyanth had openly worked against the President Maithripala Sirisena during the Presidential Election. It was the UNP which stood by him. If not for UNP he wouldn’t have been on President’s seat today. But now they started working against those who brought them to power. They highly talk about the CB bond report and accuse prime Minister. It was the UNP led by RanilWickremasinghe first appointed a committee to into it and report. He claimed it was the UNP which took first preliminary action. He said, that Prime Minister RanilWickremasinghe has recently declared that the Perpetual Treasuries (PVT)Ltd would pay back Rs 11 billion to the Srilanka Government after the Court case. Hence, why they make all these fuss?he asked.

Minister S.B.Dissanayake responded saying that if not for the cooperation given by the SLFP led by Maithreepala Sirisena, he wouldn’t have continued to occupy the Prime Minister’s seat. At that time RanilWickremasinghe was made Prime Minister by the President MaithreepalaSirisena, UNP had on their fold only 40 odd Members of Parliament. If the SLFPwith their 140 MPs wanted, they could have easily brought a no confidence motion against Prime Minister and unseated him. Those who are pointing finger at us should understand this fact, he said.

Minister WijemuniSoyza too made comments on Hareen’s statement and said, that UNP and the SLFP together brought President Maithreepala Sirisena into power. Hence, no point of only one party claiming ownership.
