Uni. Student Lost Over & Lakhs Through Facebook Friendship
An Ayurvedic degree course student at Colombo University developed aa friendship with a person through Facebook. Later on person concerned had duped her telling that she would get millions of rupees if she invest money in some venture. She was lured to deposit Rs. 7 lakhs and 75 rupees to his account. She has deposited Rs. 7 lakhs and 75 rupees and waiting for the fortune. The person concerned has assured her that she would receive the prize (fortune) on the 3rd of January 2018. She waited in vain and finally reported the matter to the Kumburupitiya police.
Police said, that this is the highest amount of money defrauded from a single person in Srilanka through Facebook.
