Ceylon Teachers Union Stalin Demands Arrest of Uva Chief Minister Immediately

In connection with a school admission the Principal of a Tamil MahaVidyalaya, Uva Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake alleged to have summoned her to his residence and forced her to kneel in front of him. Media gave wide publicity for this incident then. Thereafter, under duress the principal concerned made a statement to the police and the media to the effect that no such incident took place.
Due to current political development, now the matter has been resurrected in the public domain. She has disclosed all what happened then before the media. Uva Chief Minister’s action was condemned by most of the politicians and political parties. On behalf of the SLFP, Minister of Science, Technology and Research Minister Susil Premajayantha has condemned the behavior of the Uva Chief Minister. In Hatton Public gathered and demonstrated against the Uva chief Minister.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Stalin demanded immediate arrest of the Chief Minister for summoning a Public Officer to his residence and threatened her.
