Police Deployment For LG Polls

Police media spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara said that a total of 65,758 police officers and 4,178 police Special Task force personnel will be deployed for providing security during Saturday’s local government election.

Out of which, while 26,840 officers will be deployed to 13,420 polling stations,

13,552 police officers will be assigned to 3,225 mobile patrols. Further, 1,106 police officers will be appointed to 140 riot squads, and 3,248 police officers will be assigned to 464 road blocks. As an additional measure police Special Task Force officers deployed to those posts.
