Latest Development in Udayanga’s Arrest in Dubai…….

As former Srilankan Ambassador  to Russia is a citizen of Ukraine, authorities in Ukraine have required the Dubai Authorities to deport  Udayanga to Ukraine instead of Srilanka. Udayanga has  developed good relationship with Russia. He said to have been involved in supplying Russian weapons to  Ukraine militants.

Further, although the court said to have been issued red notice , it was not so. Only a blue notice was issued by the court. Under which only the identification of the person, location where he resides and his activities could be probed.

Hence, Dubai authorities are in a quandary as to what to do. In the meantime Srilankan authorities requests deportation of Udayanga to Srilanka.
