EC Calls List of Members Nominated to Councils From Political Parties…..

The Elections Commission has requested all political parties to submit names due to be nominated through supplementary lists, to Local Authorities promptly.

 The United National Party has appointed a committee to nominate members to councils through the supplementary list.

This committee will deliberate the matter with seat organisers, before finalising the lists, said Deputy Minister Ajith P Perera

Meanwhile Chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Perunmuna GL Peries said, the compilation of the SLPP supplementary lists is underway.

Furthermore the General Secretary of the United People’s Freedom Alliance Minister Mahinda Amaraweera noted, that the compilation of lists of the UPFA and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has not commenced yet.

The JVP has informed the nominations of members through the supplementary lists for local government bodies will be compiled following discussion with district organisers.
