More Disclosures Regarding Lasantha’s Murder in Former SSP’s Statement

Journalist, Lasantha Wickramatunga was killed on the 8th of January 2009, at the high-security zone in Mt. Lavinia – Attidiya, while he was on his way to work.

Former senior DIG Prasanna Nanayakkara and former OIC of Mt. Lavinia Police’s Crime Division, SI Tissa Sugathapala  were both arrested by the CID on charges of concealing evidence with regard to the murder probe and remanded. The court has  prohibited former IGP Jayantha Wickramaratne, Senior DIG Prasanna Nanayakkara, and former SSP Hemantha Adhikari from travelling abroad.

 The counsel appearing on behalf of the former SSP informed that his client is ready to make a confidential statement before the Magistrate when the case was taken up last Friday.

Followed by it, the former SSP Hemantha Adhikari who is currently under investigation  has made a 3-hour confidential statement before the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate at the Magistrate’s official chamber.

His statement said to have disclosed several shocking matters.
