Ceylon Petroleum Trade Union Alliance’s  Scheduled Strike Suspended.

Followed an assurance given by the management of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, the Petroleum Trade Union Alliance has decided to suspend the scheduled trade union action .
Several Petroleum trade unions including the Petroleum Trade Union Alliance decided to launch a strike action based on several demands including against the delay to sanction salary increments.
Spokesperson of the Petroleum Trade Union Alliance Bandula Saman Kumara said the Petroleum employees have not received scheduled increments for the year 2018.
He said an agreement was reached between the CPC management and trade unions to increase the salaries covering years 2018, 2019 and 2020.
He said, therefore trade unions decided to launch a strike action.
Further he said the trade unions have been informed of a possible agreement to increase the salary last night and therefore decided to suspend the proposed strike action.
