Bail Granted to Lahiru & Sugathananda Thera (Update)

Fort Magistrate Lanka Jeyaratne today granting bail to Convenor of the Inter University Student’s Federation Lahiru Weerasekera and Convener of the Inter University Bhikku Front Tampitiye Sugathananda Thera.

Bail condition was one 3 lakhs surety bond and Rs.7500 cash deposit in respect of each.

Lahiru & Sugathananda to be Produced in the Court Today

Convenor of the Inter University Student’s Federation Lahiru Weerasekera and Convener of the Inter University Bhikku Front Tampitiye Sugathananda Thera, arrested and remanded on   charges of disregarding a court order and conducting a rally on the 25th of January in a manner, which inconvenienced the public.

Both of them are to be produced before Court once again today. The case will be taken up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jeyaratne today.
