Tamed Elephant Given For Religious Activities

Followed by the appointment of Minister of Wildlife and Sustainable Development, Ravindra Samaraweera, he announced that in future a proper programme will soon be implemented to allocate tamed elephants for religious activities.

The Minister said this after assuming office at his Ministry this morning (Mar. 02).

Meanwhile, newly appointed Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, J. C. Alawathuwala also assumed duties today.
