President to Visit India

President Maithripala Sirisena has arrived in India this evening.

 The government of India extended a warm welcome to President Sirisena, President’s Media Division said.

The President was accompanied to India with a ten member delegation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the President undertakes the visit at the joint invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emanuel Macron.

The President is set to participate in the First Conference of the International Solar Alliance which will convene tomorrow in New Delhi.

Over 32 Heads of Government and high-level delegates are scheduled to attend the ISA Conference.
