Time Period Concludes For 2016 A/L Students …

Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways D.C Dissanayake said that the special loan scheme was introduced to students,  who passed the 2016 GCE A/L  Examination but failed to qualify for state universities.

The government has decided to provide Rs 800,000 to applicants to enter a selected degree awarding private university.

Only 25,000 students are generally eligible to enter a state university although around 200,000 students sit for the A/Level Exam.

The time period granted for students, who faced the 2016 A/L  Examination to apply for the special loan scheme concludes today (20).
