Special Transport Service for New Year
The Railway Department and the Sri Lanka Transport Board have arranged special transport services to enable public to celebrate the Tamil and Sinhala New Year with their families.
In addition, private bus services are also made available during this period. Special train service will commence on 7th and continue till 17th April, Railway Additional General Manager Wijeya Samarasinghe said.
Trains will be scheduled from Colombo Fort to Badulla, Matara, Anuradhapura, Kandy and Jaffna.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Transport Board will begin the special bus service from 6th of this month, said its Chairman Ramal Sriwardene.
