Kuliyapitiya Local Council Captured Jointly by SLPP & ACMC  

Kurunegala district Kuliyapitiya area Local Council was captured by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) jointly during the voting held today(2).

Wijayasiri Ekanayake from the Srilanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) received   21 votes and elected as the Chairman of the Council. United National Party Mahinda Pushpakumara who contested against the Chairman received only 16 votes.

All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) M.C.Irfan was elected as Vice Chairman unanimously.
