President Appoints New Ministers in Place of Portfolios Relinquished by SLFP Ministers
A group of the SLFP Ministers, who voted for the no confidence motion against the Prime Minister, which was defeated said to have submitted their resignations.
Accepting the resignations of four Ministers, the president has appointed Dr.Sarath Amunugama as Acting Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training and Science and Technology, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya as Acting Minister of Disaster Management, Faizer Musthapha as Minister of Sports and Malik Samarawickrema as Acting Minister of Social Empowerment and Labour. The complete reshuffle of the cabinet of Ministers will be effected only after the Sinhala and Tamil News year, most probably on 23rd.
