Mahinda Says He Won’t Take Over the Leadership of SLFP Again….

When former President Mahinda Rajapakshe met the five SLFP members of Parliament, who voted in favour of the no confidence motion against the Prime Minister, he said that through the recently held local government elections, the people had approved him to work with the SLPP. Hence, he won’t take over the leadership of the SLFP.
However, it is the duty and responsibility of its leader to save the party from annihilation and building it up. I am a SLFP member, who protected the policy of the party and developed the country. But the current leadership has forgotten all my services and slinging mud on me stating that I have robbed in development works. Still they have not abandoned it. Still we are in the SLFP. To safeguard the SLFP, we are prepared to design a proper plan to protect it. We are prepared to give our support, he concluded.
