Kaduwela Municipal Councillor Arrested by CID

A gunman on a motorbike opened fire at the vehicle of  SAITM CEO Dr. Sameera Senaratne on the 6th of February 2017 as he was returning home after work. The CEO of SAITM was not injured in the attack, however his vehicle sustained damages.

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) has arrested Kaduwela Municipal Councillor Aruna Lakmal Nishantha in connection to the shooting of SAITM CEO Dr. Sameera Senaratne.

The suspect was produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s court yesterday (18) and was taken in for further questioning under detention orders.
