Bail Granted to 10 Uni. Students

Ten university students including a Buddhist monk attached to the Inter-University Bhikkhu Federation arrested and remanded on charges of behaving in an unruly manner opposite the University Grants Commission were released on bail.

The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara when the case was taken up for hearing last afternoon.

The Chief Magistrate ordered the release of the suspects on 10,000 rupee cash bails each and 500,000 rupee surety bails each.
